Well, today has certainly been an eventful day. After waking up at 3:30 in the morning, the group caught a 6 am flight to Dallas.

A short time later, we were on another flight to Fort Lauderdale. We got half of our mosquito lotion confiscated by the TSA for being too flammable and we had to leave one person behind at home because of a passport/boarding pass discrepancy. We’re meeting her tomorrow morning.

The real action started in Fort Lauderdale. Our flight was supposed to leave at 1:05. At 1:15, we were still waiting to board. Soon after that, a big red “cancelled” appeared on the screen. After waiting in a massive line to figure out what’s happening, we finally got a new flight.

We are now flying out of Miami at 6:40 in the morning. We got three meals and our hotel comped so after dinner at the airport Chili’s, we grabbed our checked luggage and awayed to Miami where a Holiday Inn awaited us.

It was a cloudy day so there wasn’t any sun.
Once we got to the hotel, we headed to the Miami airport to get checked in for the flight so we don’t have to in the morning. We also had vouchers for a free dinner, so we ate. Again.
After dinner, we waited around the airport for Sam to arrive. She was the one left at home for passport discrepancies. We weren’t supposed to find her until morning, but we ended up with her tonight!
The best part was while we were walking through the Miami airport, we literally ran into another group just getting home from Healing Haiti!

We were both in Miami due to problems with our flights, them on the return and us on the departure. We prayed as a group and then said goodbye. It was a God thing.
