That awkward moment when you realize this was supposed to get posted LAST summer. Like 2015. Whoops.

Late, but not forgotten, Berlin 2015. Berlin will mostly be a photo diary as I no longer remember the small details of the day.

From what I recall, we only spent one day in Berlin. We arrived via a sleeper train from Munich and got straight to sight-seeing. It was mostly a driving tour so I didn’t get many photos and the ones I did get aren’t that great. The next morning, we flew out to head home.

On the drive from Switzerland to Munich, we stopped at Neuschwanstein Castle. It is in Bavaria, Germamy and absolutely beautiful.

It may look familiar because it inspired Sleeping Beauty’s castle and was also used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

To get to the castle, we had to climb a mountain. We began in the village and walked up. It is supposed to be a 40 minute uphill walk if you walk at a normal pace. We were limited to 20 minutes because we were severely late and about to miss our time slot for a tour. We did it in 15 minutes. It was terrible. And it smelled like horse because you could rent a carriage to take you up.

Guys, I apologize in advance for how incredibly long this post will be. It encompasses three days!

I spent the 26th, 27th, and the morning of the 28th in Germany with some old friends. Rachel was one of my small group leaders at church back like six years ago. She moved to Germany with her husband and now they have two super cute little girls.

Last week, I messaged her and an hour later, I was booked to go to Germany! Total spur of the moment thing, but in Europe, it’s easier to do that kind of stuff.

I ended up leaving the dorms about three hours before my flight. The tube was going to take a bit over an hour, so I wanted plenty of time. Due to a signal failure on literally the last stop before I would get there, the service shut down and I had to catch a train the rest of the way putting me around a half hour behind what I wanted to be.
